the clothes you wear

Words of Wisdom

“You only get one chance to make a first Impression”

The Clothes You Wear Actually Change the Way You Perform

Research shows that what you wear affects the way you think.  It also affects how others perceive you. This in turn has a profound impact on how we feel about ourselves.
The brain takes a millisecond to make judgments, this is called “thin slicing”. We often refer to this as a gut feeling and it happens subconsciously. Our judgment of others could be simply be based on the way they have presented themselves to us by the way they are dressed. What you wear is one of the most impactful examples of non verbal communication.

First Impressions
A person’s first encounter with you sets the pace for how they see and treat you in the future. The saying that you only get one chance to make a first impression, drives home that fact. Like it or not, people judge each other on appearance.

Your clothing impacts your thinking and what others think of you.
Your clothing, your hair style, your accessories , the shoes you are wearing and its condition all play a part .

What you wear tells a story about you, your age, your politics , your personality, your wealth and even your mental health.
You certainly wouldn’t wear a bikini or swim trunks to a graduation, would you? If you did think about how you would feel and what the kind of statement you would be making?

When someone wears a uniform they take on a whole new personality, with certain expectations. When an actor prepares for a part, the clothes he or she wears actually brings the character to life, the actors themselves feel the change and take on the persona of the character.

What you wear affects the way you feel .........

What does your clothes say about you?
Dressing is an art and you need to take control of how you dress and how you present yourself. Consider that every activity you go to has a different dress code. You are in the driving seat, create your brand because presentation matters.

Next time you step out think about what your clothing is saying about you.
